Can my cleaner attend during the level 4 coronavirus restrictions?

Wales is currently at COVID 19 alert level 4.

As a cleaner introductory business we are not in a position to make this decision on behalf of either our clients or the cleaners who work with us. It is a judgement for clients and cleaners to make between themselves based on their own situations and requirements and with reference to the current advice from the Welsh Government and Public Health Wales.  We would encourage clients and cleaners to a) familiarise themselves with the current advice and b) discuss arrangements between themselves and come to a mutual agreement.

Our understanding of the current guidance as of December 20th 2020 is as follows:

The Welsh government guidance for alert level 4 states that "work carried out in people's homes,   for example by tradespeople, can continue as long as it is managed in a safe way and both the worker and household members are well and have no symptoms of coronavirus.  Physical distancing will need to be observed whenever you can. However, we recommend that people consider whether the work can be safely deferred until after the level 4 restrictions are lifted."

Like other businesses, people working in someone else’s home must take all reasonable measures to ensure to mitigate the risk of coronavirus spreading when working in other people’s households.

No work should be carried out in any household which is isolating or where an individual is being shielded, unless it is to remedy a direct risk to the safety of the household.

No work should be carried out by a worker who has coronavirus symptoms, however mild.
